How Do Parents Get Involved?
Parents, welcome to a page that is just for you! We love our parents and want you to get involved in our student ministry.  The most common question you have is "How do I get involved?"  Below are some great places to get started.

Everyday
You are the most influential person in your student’s life.  The life you live in front of them is the example they will follow.  Therefore, model what it is like to walk with Christ daily.  Teach your student God’s word and be a student of it yourself.  Lead in family devotions.  Discuss what you are both learning in your bible study time.

Weekly
Come hang out with students whenever they gather.  Wednesday nights are a great time to just hang out with our students.  Student ministers make it their priority to get to know every student, but even they can only truly connect with a small number of students.  A group of adults who love students and want to be involved in their lives is a huge help.  If you are not already serving in another ministry, come hang out with our students.
If you want to get even more involved in student ministry, you should consider helping teach one of our student Sunday school classes.  There is nothing quite like watching a student “get it” when you are teaching them God’s word.  It is by far one of the most rewarding experiences in ministry.

Monthly
Students love to get together anywhere, anytime.  If you have the gift of hospitality, consider opening up your home for a fellowship.  You don’t have to roll out the red carpet! Students just love having a place to hangout and have some fun together.

Special Occasions
The most common way an adult gets involved in Student Ministry is chaperoning a trip.  These trips come around several times a year, and we are always looking for someone willing to brave a weekend or week with some crazy teenagers!  Keep an eye out for announcements and information regarding these trips.

Along with trips, we have intense weekend bible studies (more commonly known as Disciple-Now or D-Now weekends) where students break up into small groups spend some intense time discussing various biblical themes.  Your involvement can be something as simple as driving our students to and from various activities, but the most important roles for these weekends are the small group leaders and host homes.  Small group leaders teach the Bible and lead students in discussions.  Host homes provide a place for the group to meet, eat, and sleep.

Join in the Fun!
As you can see, there are a lot of ways you can get involved.  When you are ready to jump in, contact the church office and we will find a place for you to serve in our student ministry!
